A native of Puerto Rico, Carlos is a trained artist. He studied fine arts and fashion design at the prestigious Savannah College of Art & Design and after 10 years in fashion design in New York , he wanted a change. Matthew Carlson, owner, introduced him to hairstyling, and it was instant love. “Hairstyling is like creating fashion. It is all about color, cut, texture and form”, he says. Because of his training as an artist, he find inspiration everywhere. Carlos’ training has included specialized courses at HOB and Toni & Guy in London, and the Chicago Academy. He believes that it’s important to look at every client with new eyes, and create a style that is authentic. Outside of the salon, Carlos pursues his passion for the arts and design, loves to cook, garden and travel. His artistic touch can be found throughout the interior of Station Row.
